Aviano Base Visit
( Article Best View in PC or MAC )
Aviano Airbase situated in northeastern Italy is one of the important NATO base housing USAF F-16 Squadron. Namely the 510th ( Buzzards) FS and 555th Fighter Squadron FS ( Triple Nickel )
Both Triple Nickel and Buzzards have been heavily involved in world conflicts and NATO air restriction operations like Operation Deny Flight, Deliberate Force, Allied Force, Southern Watch and Northern Watch. Airwingspotter.com have caught 510th FS numerous time in Nellis AFB participating Red flag exercise. They both flew the F-16C Blk 40 and have gone through the CCIP configuration including the following systems: Modular Mission Computer, Color Multifunction Display Set, Common Data Entry Electronics Unit, Electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator, Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), Link 16 Multifunction Information Distribution System (MIDS) and Low Volume Terminal with TACAN. This modification will allow cost savings through a common type certification and stock savings
Here are yesterday’s visit of the hangered 510th and 555th FS vipers and weapons stores
Due to the weather conditions, these are the best shots we could muster.
