A Quick Update
Hello, all! We’ve received messages from a few of you about staying with us after our hiatus, however we will give you up to another week to respond and begin posting regularly again. To those of you applying, welcome and we’ll read your applications as well as accept as scheduled. So, enjoy roleplaying, and we are here if you have any inquiries or concerns.

Hiatus Update!
Hello, everyone. We hope you’re enjoying your summer.
Currently, we are all very busy, and due to this we will be on an indefinite hiatus as far as writing tasks and events go. However, we WILL be accepting applications, posting on the main page, and updating locations (as you can see).
Please message us if you are an existing member that wishes to stay in the roleplay! For those that are new, welcome, have a look around and message us for any inquiries. We will get back to you ASAP.

This is an official hiatus announcement!
Before we kick this announcement off, we just want to let you know that Five Boroughs RPG is NOT closing down. All we’re doing is taking a little bit of a break due to the fact that the admins have a lot going on this July, and also because we want to give the roleplay a bit of a makeover.
You’ve undoubtedly noticed a lack of activity on the main and the dash, so we’ve opted to take a hiatus in order to spruce up the page. We’ll be accomplishing a list of tasks that will be detailed later but, for now, we wanted to let you know what this would mean for our player-base.
First and foremost, we aren’t closing down. You are still free to play your character on the dash at your leisure. We won’t be doing activity checks, but we will be sending a message to each player about whether they intend to stay in Five Boroughs or not. This is just so we can know which bios to take down and which to leave up.
The admins will still be online, though perhaps a bit more scarce. Our main goal will be to put the final touches on this roleplay, but we will be around to answer all of your questions and chat about whatever’s on your mind! Never hesitate to send us a message! We will not be accepting applications until August 1st, 2015. This is the final date of our hiatus, so we’ll have a “re-opening” ceremony then! You can feel free to send in applications and we’ll update the app count as they come, but they won’t be accepted until after our hiatus is over.
Those are the big changes! It’s nothing too scary, but we wanted you to know what to look forward to.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but hope that Five Boroughs will prosper from this very small hiatus!

Good evening, Five Boroughs!
This is just a quick note to let you know that you can feel free to resume your regular threads. The Darcy Corporation Charity Gala is officially over! That being said, you’re also free to continue the threads that you’ve already started during the course of this event.
Other than that, here’s a little description of our next two events:
July 1st-10th will be our fourth of July event! Details will be given later, but this event will be larger than our last. The whole of NYC usually celebrates Independence Day, so expect your character to find something to do!
On August 7th, we’ll be holding a summer festival event. We’ll discuss more on this after our July fourth extravaganza!
We hope your summer is shaping up to everything you wanted it to be! And congratulations to those of you who have graduated and have finished their schooling for the semester!

It might not be Wednesday, but here ares two writing prompts for you!
If you recall correctly, we’ve already asked you to write a scenario that would make your character uncomfortable. Though this was a while back, we were happy with the situations you guys could come up with! Keeping that theme in mind, we challenge you to write a situation in which your character is lost. Whether it be emotionally or physically, we want to see what happens when your character is thrown into a situation so unfamiliar that they can only rely on their wits to get them out of it.
Since that writing prompt is so similar to one we’ve already completed, we also have another challenge for you! Write your character winning/achieving something important to them. A lot of our characters are at low points in their lives, so how would they react if things suddenly started going right? Moreover, what would happen if everything came crashing down once again? Could they find the strength to carry on after having a taste of victory?
We challenge you to get creative with this! Create plots, pull other writers into your ideas, and have fun! It’s time to shake things up just before Wednesday’s event!
As always, if you need ideas or something to jumpstart your creativity, get in touch with us! All of the admins watch the dash, and we would be happy to help you come up with something interesting and specific to your character.
