I remember last New Year's Eve/New Years Day working on the beats for what would become this #5chuckles IntheWrld LP ....we wanted to drop the album Black Friday (as we had previously did with the Ep) but with my cousin @ktownodd dropping a dope ass movie #drivingwhileblack it kinda pushed us back but we was determined to make it happen. Fast forward 2 months before Blk Friday and we start recording, first song on the album we cut one take no problem ....2nd song I'm starting to hear Korean Radio signals (hella random) being picked up by the microphone took me a few strongs(me nah say week) to figure out the madness. Finally got that sorted So we're back on it every Wednesday even a few late ass Thursday's night after our day jobs ( yea we got day jobs) of recording. Catching up with @cotolocobass @detectivetully @noniee3k for additional homie/cop dialogue and trying to lock down guest verses from @artrapmike @khaillsadiq @verbsisthehomie @trenttruce and #Zeroh(who all came thru 👊🏿✌🏿️) We missed our Blk Friday release date but we had got all the recording and album sequence layed out the same strong as Blk Friday. a new show / zine concept i have been working on 

1 - 9 ~ 9 - 4 is a platform for artists to explore the relationship between visual art and sound. We are a bi-annual zine that doubles as a quarterly event. Our mission is to celebrate the many subcultures within music and dance while expressing what we hear and feel in a visual manifestation. The first issue of 1994 spotlights the Footwork and Juke movement with in-depth photo stories of Battlegroundz and Chicago-based crew, Teklife. So for the very first installment of this series, one of Footwork's originators, RP Boo, will be blessing us with a special hour long set. Joining him will be Mndsgn, an eclectic producer off Highland Park based label Stones Throw, with a funk/boogie/r&b set 2 keep you moving. 5 Chuckles is a new group made up of Ras G's beats and Koreatown Oddity's raps that will allow for constant astral traveling. Cakedog AKA Ahnnu will be providing an experimental approach to footwork and juke music with his soundscapes. All artists involved with this event have made artistic contributions or are featured in the upcoming 1st issue of 1994 magazine.
