June 26th: Nashes to Ashes

We arrived in Asheville late Friday night from Nashville after a pit stop at the majestic Foster Falls. Saturday night was our show at 5 Walnut, the swankiest wine bar in downtown Asheville. We did our best to drown out the din of the chatter with our harmonies and rhythms. Our audience was moved by the music, our new fan (coincidentally another Heather) told me after the show that our music took her on a journey through our travels and experiences. We played a three hour set and made our way home to our friend MK’s house where we slept like pigs in a blanket.

Today we finally had a chance to relax, we jammed out at Roots and Fruits Market, played with chickens and collected herbs from the farm. In the afternoon we made our way to the Wedge to see our new friends from Les3Amis, the new Toubab Krewe arrangement. The afternoon flew by with good beer and dancing and tonight we are finally getting to sleep early. We are excited to spend a few more days among the mountains and rivers in this beautiful city.
