Dinosaur birthday, healing my inner child who did not want a Cinderella cake
The gift I'm frowning at was a bird feeder and I was desperately trying to figure out what I was looking at so I could say "thank you" properly 😅 I couldn't figure it out and had to ask lol
It's so cute, thank you so much!... uhm, what is it exactly?
Oh my godddd. This is like the third time I've read this.
For context, I was emotionally parentified really bad starting at age 10 and parentified over my sibling starting age 9 and the parentification also involved various kinds of abuse and enmeshment and me not being allowed to express any negative emotions. I'm also still trapped in a parental type role with my mother, though far less intensely.
And omg
prob important to put in my pinned. and have everyone know. abt thing my brain does where it will just skip over words or entire swaths of text. makes me look like a huge idiot 💀
ppl need to be warned and for nmy own dignity lol. gotta remember when i wake up
Unpopular opinion but assigned books are not supposed to be about instilling a love for reading but about building reading comprehension and critical thinking skills (among other things depending on the book ie learning about life experiences different from one's own).
'Kids should be allowed to skip To Kill a Mockingbird for H.arry Potter' was always an anti-intellectual opinion. Kids should be encouraged to read things of their own choice in addition to the assigned reading.
