Just a little over a week ago I got to attend the sold out solo tour concert of an extraordinary musician and actor. I first got to know him through his break-out role as Blaine Anderson on the hit T.V. show Glee, but as I got to know him as a person and as an artiest, my devotion, respect, and admiration for him grew, and it keeps on growing.
After going through a bumpy and dark period in my life, he reminded me that not only am I not alone, but that my dreams are reachable, and that the sky is the limit, and to never give up! He brought light back into my life and lifted me back up on to my feet.
So when Darren announced that he was going on his first solo tour (he had been on tour with the cast of Glee) I was keeping my fingers crossed that one of his stops would be my hometown of Toronto. I was so excited when the tour cities were posted and low and behold Toronto was one of them. The day the tickets went on pre-sale I was buying my ticket exactly as the clock struck 10:00am (the time the tickets went on sale). Being able to attend his concert was a dream come true. To be able to stand so close and truly feel the emotions was an experience in it's self. It felt like I was standing in a room just him and me (even though there where about 1,000 plus other people there) it was pure magic! I still can not believe that I got to see him preform and help make one of his biggest dreams come true!
My experience got even better, I met some amazing people who truly showed me what being a fan of Darren's is all about and everything Darren stands for (being kind, generous, friendly exc….) They truly made the concert that much better and I am so blessed that I got to experience it with them (and I also made some new friends)
No matter what else is in store for Darren and his career, weather it be two more years of Glee (at least), Starkid shows, solo albums, movies, or Broadway, I will be there, cheering him on and supporting him making his dreams come true. I am ending this post with a twist of one of the most famous movie lines, "He had me at Teenage Dream"!
