We had a client call us today with what sounded like a potentially major issue. One of our questions? "When was the last time you changed your fuel filters?" They had not been changed since about nine months ago in a truck that's constantly worked with lots of idling time. Guess what? He changed the filters (which were nasty!) and now the truck runs great. Sounds like he was lucky and caught it in time, but that could have caused need for a MAJOR repair. Save yourself some heartache and make absolutely sure to change all your fuel filters at every oil change, about every 5k miles for heavy use/stop and go/idling, or otherwise about every 6-7k miles.
