Evenings like this are rare. I never thought I'd be able to say this, but last night I saw Coven live, and in the intimacy of Tavastia no less. I arrived just in time to catch the beginning of the show, with Jinx of legend appearing from a casket to sing the intro. The rest of the performance followed suit in a devilish sermon of 60s rock and psychedelia; a culmination of all the imagery you could possibly fear in a bout of satanic panic. In the dark or the venue, the beastly riffs and uptempo grooves summon a kinetic energy that incites even the surliest of stoic metalheads to break out into dance. Surely this is the Devil's music! The drama and theatrics were spellbinding. Jinx especially is a delight to witness, whether singing, delivering a satanic mantra, or breaking the proverbial fourth wall and just casually connecting with the audience. The band clearly has fun with the music and that joy is palpable. It was a good night. Jinx, you're an inspiration. I'll come say 'hi' when I inevitably wind up in hell. #livemusic #coven #witchcraft #satanic #witchcraftdestroysmindsandreapssouls #tavastia #tavastiaklubi #60srock #60spsychedelia (at TAVASTIA-klubi)
