I took this HDR set the as the sun came up one morning during one of my road trips. I remember the air was cold there, relative to San Diego that is, which isn't saying much I suppose. Sleeping in your car on trips makes the cold bite a little bite harder. On really cold mornings, the battle going on in your mind is actually, "Do I really want to leave this warm car to go out there and set up this shot? Is this shot going to be worth it?" On my solo road trips, I don't pre-plan sunrise and sunset photo locations. My goal is just to keep on driving and hope to be lucky enough to find a nice scene to shoot as the sun is getting ready to rise or set. I've been consistently lucky :), so much so that I wonder whether it's actually the case you'd be lucky to actually miss a good sunrise or sunset HDR when out in nature.... But I probably won't be saying that in places where it's almost always overcast :). We have a creative photo shoot or two coming up this month, and we'll be sharing content from these projects as I finish up the image edits from those sessions.
