Fabrication of Vincent's lore time:

Vin came from a family that has worshipping Sparda until the present days. His ancestors originally descended/casted out of ancient Fortuna and moved to a new location in which they named Fortunata-his hometown in the South of Italy.

Vincent only knows Sparda to a degree since the later generations slowly lost touch with the religion, ever since the rising of Temen-ni Gru. It's almost world wide known event among churches because of the absurd phenomenon that came after: people mysteriously lost their life in rural areas, also the increase in mob and criminal activities. It's theorized that the act of praying became dangerous in a world where ambitious prayers could be taken advantage of by unknown forces. The Cornicellis-Vincent's household has their own way to keep the children safe.

But one thing is that the teaching and praying upon Sparda has faded away in Vin's area. He couldn't have known the deep of this (Temen ni Gru) through sheer luck, he hasn't been preyed upon... not yet.
