Not sure why, but the Brother seems to be giving off Snoopy “Joe Cool” vibes here. ......
Update time! Remember itty bitty lil’ Chick One? The tiny gray Chicklet? Well, she is 3 months old now and is still the smollest of hens. Her colouring is very subtle, but she is no longer just gray (if you look carefully.) She has been named Ece, and her cheek poofs and beard are just starting to come in. Ece is very sweet, and content to follow along with everyone else. Her favourite friend is Ku.
Jeep.
Just Jeep.
Dah dah, dah dahhhh, dah dah dah!
Update Chick Six, now known as the Gingerbread Man as he has a penchant for running wherever you do not wish him to go. He is on the right of this photo.
And on the left of this one. The Gingerbread Man is a handsome roo... but is always getting himself into trouble. He would like to be the Boss of All Things, which Fog takes exception to regularly, and Cinder disagrees with occasionally, and Toad mopes about constantly.
Here is the Gingerbread Man out in front, Cinder Fella is on his right.
I think that the Gingerbread Man would be happier with his own group of unshared hens, so he is moving to the flock next door where he will have his own little Bantam gals. No sharing necessary. He can yell at Cinder from there.
Toad will be overjoyed.
RooChick Five update, Cinder Fella. Now, Cinder is a Roo.
He has mastered the Art of Tail Feathering. (Note jealous Toad face on right.) And Cinder has a four note crow. Very nice. (This causes issues with Toad, who has a rather weak honk, and the Gingerbread Man who can only make three notes. Both of whom will take off after Cinder in the middle of his announcement to prohibit him from making that last note!)
Cinder tolerates Toad, but is not fond of the Gingerbread Man. (Only because GM is always trying to start something.) He likes eating meal worms from your hand, and is trying to master the soft but tough guy look.
Update, RooChick Four. Henceforth known as Toad.
Toad has an identification problem. He is finally getting some tail feathers worthy of Roosterdom, and his comb is a nice shade of red. He even started crowing... sort of... not long ago. He’s trying. But of the three roos that came out of this bunch, he is the least rooish. Until the tail feathers started cooperating he looked like a hen in comparison to his fellow roos.
He rather acts like one too rather regularly. Toad is pretty, and pretty confused. That is ok, he has plenty of time to decide who he is, he is only 3 months old after all. We have one crowing hen already, one more would be fine. Totally up to Toad.
The only request we have of Toad has to do with Fog... he has developed an obsession with her and is driving her crazy. That needs to stop before she decides to behead him.
This is ChickHen Three, now known as Fog. Despite what the roosters tell you, she is the one in charge. No mere lap for Fog, she is a shoulder hen, only the best perch for Fog!
At 3 months old, Fog has mastered chickening.... with one small exception. She has yet to figure out how to get rid of Toad.
