#7406 Counterpart Zombie Surprise (Peach Cobbler) (Canada) Wrapping up the evening with this fourth anniversary smoothie sour from Counterpart. Coming in at 5.5%, it rocks peach, vanilla, cinnamon, and Graham crackers, it pours juicy and thick with no head and a straight peach cobbler nose, the body is hella thicc with pie spice and tangy peach vibes, it’s sticky and smooth, not overly sweet, pastry af without being over the top, wrapping in a dusty, tart, stone fruit finish. Killer. (at Hamilton, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cp9fdZLMcbR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
#7406 Badlands x Barncat Artisan Ales Off The Table (2022) (Canada) The final beer from Badlands’ fifth anniversary drop is this glorious barrel-aged imperial stout collab with the lords at Barncat. This is the first stout I’ve had from Badlands, and as expected, I’m impressed. Coming in at 11.9%, it was brewed in 2021 and aged in Willet bourbon barrels for 16 months and then dosed up with vanilla (around $1.50 per can worth) and hazelnuts. It pours like motor oil with an espresso head and a chocolatey, bourbon nose, the body is big and thick with oak and bourbon heavy up front, the vanilla and nuts shine through immediately after delivering that pastry vibe, it’s syrupy and sticky, I’m getting fudge and liquorice, some subtle bitter vibes, minimal sweetness, wrapping in a boozy, silky, oaky, chocolatey finish. Genuinely outstanding, the pastry elements aren’t overdone, it just works perfect. Need more stouts from Badlands. (at Hamilton, Ontario) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjpAMj2NHW8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
