TBT... to 77 Beds
"I really love sad things, I love sad music, even though I have a very happy life."
—Ben Whishaw
Interesting article about "77 Beds": http://www.directorsnotes.com/2007/06/09/77-beds-alnoor-dewshi/
With script and budget issues solved, attention turned to finding two other key elements: the talent and the beds. Whilst out cycling, Dewshi passed ‘a strangely dressed young guy padding along, smiling at the clouds’ who was perfect for his lead.

77 beds (2003)
This bed was the bed that my good friend Breadknife bought for me from this strange girl who was selling it for a fiver.
"Ishmael, this is one bargain bed."
"I'm not so sure Breadknife."
"It's a good bed Ishmael."
"We should have asked her why she wanted to sell it. She seems sad. I think it's a sad bed."
"Do you think something sad happened in it?"
"Did you notice she didn't have another bed in the house?"
"Hey that's true, that was a 'total get rid of the bed' situation. She wanted to lose the bed, as if someone had died in it or something."
"Where is she gonna sleep now?"
"Who'd wanna sleep in a bed that someone's died in. Maybe she murdered someone in it did you think about that? Maybe she murdered them then shagged them all in this bed. No wonder she was sad. I wouldn't want to sleep in a bed I just shagged someone I'd murdered in."
"I wouldn't want to murder someone."
"You couldn't sleep well after something like that. You won't sleep well in this bed.."
"She won't sleep well. She doesn't have a bed."
