7,926 days. 

From the day I was born till the day I met M. I spent 7, 926 days alone. Now an introduction to who I am begins somewhere in those days. I wouldn’t know where to begin. I didn’t have much besides my faith and family, which is more than many others have. Yet I was alone, and blindly walking this earth searching for something. I wanted to know the purpose of my life but I couldn’t find it. Anger and frustration bubbled to the surface of my soul as I put up layers of defense against the world. I needed to be hard to survive. On day 7,925, my armor was impenetrable...or so I thought. For on the next day I met a girl in a blue dress that pierced through all those years of loneliness, frustration, and anger and touched my soul. My walls came crumbling down. For it was at that moment when I reached my hand out to this girl in a blue dress that I met M, the love of my life. 

I joined the Marine Corps in 2012, right after I graduated high school. I spent the next three years serving in the Marine Corps traveling in and out of country. It was just about the two and a half year mark that I applied to the Naval Academy. I did not get accepted. Instead the Naval Academy offered me an appointment to the Preparatory School. I was upset and discouraged and did not want to go. But after some prayers and phone calls home I knew that I had to go. I was being called to Rhode Island for reasons I could have never guessed. I packed up all my things and moved to Rhode Island where I attended school for the first time in three years. 

It was here that I met M. Here that my life changed forever. Here that I met someone who had in her own way shared the same dreams and desires that I had always felt. Here that a new song, made in harmony from two souls, began. The lifesong began and nothing was ever the same again.
