Drugs, tobacco and alcohol are always associated with addiction. Do social games fit into that category?
Nowadays addiction towards video games is common towards teenagers and early adult age was noticed by the World Health Organization (WHO) that game addicts are almost equivalent to drug addicts (Feltman, 2018). This happens when the habit of a person happens to be always wanted to enjoy the fun of playing games wherein a day it is a must to play video games which shows it is some kind of mental health condition because of being an addict in video games (Feltman, 2018). Why who is a concern about gaming addiction because there are many cases where people died because of playing video games as an example which happened in South Korea where the two couples were so into gaming which mad them losing a child due to malnutrition of not taking care of their child instead of busy playing games which also, affect the reality of their duty taking care of the child which resulted to death (Achieng, 2017). Besides that, there are games that can make a person be violent in the reality side where it happened in Europe where the two brother made their own kind of Grand Theft Auto where the policeman was killed because of being into the game so much which feels that you can do it at the same time no bothering that life in the game is not the same as real life (Achieng,2017).
However, they are positivity in gaming but just that not until the stage where it affects everything as mentioned above where you may still play the game but then there is a limit of someone or something to be attained to. Leaving in this world there are responsibilities to be taken care of rather than consuming time by just sitting in front of the video games for hours just because it is fun and there is no stress to it, but on the other hand actually if affects the health of the individual. Moreover, there a lot of benefits of gaming such as to the society, making friends and other benefits to it where always remember that you have a limit to something which might cause the bad side to appear. The culture of gaming should be decent instead of violence where should not happen where gaming culture should have grown and developed in the future. Gaming culture nowadays is not a perfect world because of how the public perceive playing the game is and should be treated by the responsible society which can help those who needs help (Anderton, K 2018).
Besides that, according to the Qutee’s research made where the benefits of gaming are judge as a whole because of the population of the society in every country increase by day and over 40% said that gaming improves emotional well-being (Anderton, K 2018). Moreover, the popularity of video games in increasing which is used to entertain kids nowadays so that they can satisfy their curiosities in return which is good for kids and not an enemy for them. This also can increase the brain activity of the children and enhance the knowledge of wanting to learn something new every day although it is no academically thought but through something that is fun (Willis, J 2011).
