i practiced the song i wrote of you

today and i also wrote a new song

which also deals with you

and also with this new place i am living in.

today was exhausting and i felt defeated and ticked off

a lot of the time, and i wanted to call you this evening

but instead i sent a text,

but you didn’t answer.

i’m going to sleep missing you.

i talked to my mama on the phone for a bit.

it was nice to hear her voice and to let out

all the frustration trapped in me from today.

this is going to be a long six weeks but i know it’s what i needed/need.

i’ve just got to keep smiling and trying to find the patches of sunlight.

soon sunday will come and i’ll

walk through the redwood forests and

swim in the ocean again

and take bubble baths and take

good care of myself.

tomorrow is a new day in which i’ll wake up early again,

work hard and i won’t groan about it.

that doesn’t do any good for anyone.

i’ll try not to think about how you didn’t text back

or hope that you will.

maybe i’ll call on saturday after work, when my weekend begins.

maybe i’ll get a bottle of wine and take a bubble bath and play my music loud and sing and dance around naked in my hotel room

and maybe i’ll smoke weed in the hotel parking lot ir maybe

maybe i’ll bike there.

actually, i’ll make sure i do.

i wouldn’t mind having no one to see for a couple days.
