Have you read It by Stephen King? I see it is in your bio but you may be speaking about the movies.....
If you also enjoy the book should I read it? I want to but also it is so long and such a commitment please sell me on it if you have read it!
Dude yes. Feel free to talk to me about it. In 2020 I lived alone and saw It trending....but never got into the new movies. As a kid I watched It (1990) but didn't really get it. So I decided to get into it from the ground floor and read the book in like 4 days (I had a time log and kept track of pages and read from morning to evening with two meals between haha). It's very long but it's pretty good!! If you like It. I mean, I went into it with a crush on Richie so I was delighted every time I saw his name.
Personally, I found it fun and stupid and way better character writing than any of the movies. It does have classic Stephen King bullshit- weird sex stuff and Beverly sexism. But personally, the sexism made sense because they are all dealing with their traumatic childhoods worst parts. Mike is way better in the book, arguably the main character.
But, the thing at the end is annoying. If you don't know about it, I'm sorry. There's a weird sex scene with the kids that makes no goddamn sense and is so out of place. But it's like a page long and if you skip it, you miss nothing. An editor should have removed that 8^(
Anyway, I love It! Even with the stranger boners Bill always has in the book. It's stupid and funny. Some people say they think it's scary? But I didn't think so- but also I'm a bit hard unphased by this kind of horror (I'm a baby when it comes to nuke fears and being followed though) so tread carefully if you think that might affect you. I love it a lot, feel free to message me if you wanna talk about it!!! 8^))) I've honestly been wanting to reread it again, I guess this is the sign!
