The little feeble thing looked helpless as he cocked his head. Mud blinding the Eevee's eyes and snout, one of its hind legs appeared to be bruised, a small whine emitted from its maw when it attempted to add pressure to its paw. It omitted to lay on the ground, panting, catching its breath.
"Ma...ma," the Eevee croaked. It bordered a sob as the Eevee pawed at the mud coating its eyes. A young male, an adolescent in the world not ready to part from his parents. "Where are... you?"
His mother were nowhere to be seen. From the stench of the area, Zane could only come to the conclusion that she was no longer of this world. Only the scent of the deceased lingered here and the poor child had yet to realize this.
"Your mother is no longer here." Was it to spare this Eevee from this helplessness that he found himself whispering to the cub? He could easily snuff this small life out just as the others in the location, reaching with a hooked claw.
Eevee stiffened, inched away from the menacing voice. The cub cowered, quickly wiping at the mud. A startling silver met his gaze giving him pause. "W-Who are y-you?" He stammered.
"I am going to find your mother. Will you not come?" Turning over his palm, he held it out for the child to accept. He was feeling charitable. The boy didn't need to know of the events this eve. He could spare this child that horrible knowledge as he accepted his touch, meeting his hand with a paw.
