JUNE Time! - Hitodenashi Koibito by belne (1983)
If you have ever flipped through a June issue or any book about the history of BL, you must have come across the name "belne." A regular of the magazine and from what I can tell, a prominent figure in the June culture, we are proud to share a work of hers.
This story can (digitally) be found in a June manga compilation with the same name, and her 40th anniversary book.

Nile wo Sakanobotte by Yahagi Takako - A prime example of an 80s yaoi <3
One yaoi douojinshi called out to me, I followed my fujo heart, and thanks to the kind people on the internet (and Japan digitalizing this art piece), now more people can witness this absolutely endearing, terrible Egypt yaoi: Nile wo Sakanobotte (ナイルを遡って, Going Up the Nile, 1989) by Yahagi Takako.
Top left image is how I discovered this self-published work: I was reading Sharon Kinsella's Adult Manga (Routledge, 2000), and this page came up in the chapter about the rise of the amateur works during the 80s. This single image promised me all the yaoi tropes one could think of. I had to find our more about it. I needed to know if this artist had more works like this!
It turns out that she thrived more in the horror genre and did quite a number of redikomi, examples of which you can see on Feh Yes's blog. My hopes of seeing such an authentic 80s yaoi style dwindled as I scrolled down the results, but when I searched "ナイルを遡って", I saw a totally different manga cover, but the same artstyle!
YES! surprisingly, this doujinshi was digitally released in 2022 by Bisous Bisous Comics (such a cute company name!).
Fast forward, and I'm too happy to see that I could meet all the like-minded individuals on the internet who offered to help with this scanlation project, and we did our first release with The Rose Garden. Please check it out if you are an appreciator of good old stuff.
Kanzaki Haruko's Kanata e
I really want to say something about the artist and this piece of work, but you know how life can be sometimes. You see some fujo bait, you willingly take the bait and don't think too much about it. This is one of those cases.
Just so you know, the artist is known for her hardcore BL novels, and she's drawn manga everywhere on the shoujo-porny josei spectrum. This one shot comes from this e-book if you want to check it out. I have no idea where or when this oneshot was first published, but I vote for sometime in the 80s.

So were we... This porny josei doesn't quite give us what it promises on its first page, but nevertheless, it's super fun and has a prime husband material seme.
I couldn't track down the original publication information for this oneshot, but my got tells me it was featured in a josei publication.
This will be the other (and last) manga we'll be doing from this artist. Enjoy!

JUNE time! - Naka Tomoko's Tokei no Ue no Ribon (1982)
Fancy another crazy story from our beloved June? @bishonenspit was awesome to scan the magazine for us, Key took 40 years off the scans, Grumpy & shiel duo once again worked x60 times faster than the translator...
This story was compiled in two other books from what I can tell, but because they are print only, adding this story to your collection is not that easy. But for the sake of trackability, we'll be uploading this under the latest compilation it was featured in.

Hatsu Akiko from June: Daybreak City Blues (1982)
When I see a wild Hatsu Akiko appearance in June, I feel obligated to let more people know.
This little, dramatic work was first published in issue #4 of June in 1982, and was later compiled in B-Kyuu Paradise! (B級パラダイス, 1985). The said compilation book with Daybreak City Blues in it was later digitalized (with some additions), and can be found on Japanese e-book retailers.
But of course, the non-grayscaled, color version @bishonenspit gracefully provided us with is much nicer.
Enjoy handsome Hatsu men in suits.
