Gilt Groupe Co-Founders Launch "By Invitation Only"
Last night at the W Hotel Midtown, 85 Broads, a global network of 30,000 trailblazing women who are "inspired, empowered, and connected," hosted a book launch for By Invitation Only, a new book penned by Gilt Groupe Co-Founders Alexis Maybank and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson, coming to shelves April 12.
The conversation with Alexis and Alexandra was moderated by Diane Brady of Bloomberg Businessweek and the women discussed their journey in business and more about the book which tells the personal story of how Alexis and Alexandra organized and launched Gilt Groupe, an invitation only site that provides "instant insider access to today’s top designer labels, at up to 60% off retail."
According to the release, By Invitation Only provides straight talk on how to build a start-up and negotiate the many conundrums that still face women in business such as balancing family life and work responsibilities. The book provides a fascinating view into the fashion industry through revealing portraits of Zac Posen, Christian Louboutin, Valentino, and many other key players.
At the event, 85 Broads members had the opportunity to talk with Alexis and Alexandra as well as network with other successful women in business.
We captured an exclusive interview with Alexis and Alexandra as well as with Krista Sande-Kerback, head of planning for 85 Broads, which you can see below.
