I had a section in this latest chapter explaining this but it didn’t fit - will prob touch on in in a future chapter but for now will give you the explanation I’ve had written out. (May put this extended detail version in a Jamie-narrated ficlet if anyone’s interested?)
Right, so after Claire shoved Jamie onto the ground at the hotel he went downstairs to look for her but she was gone. He then went back to the festival site (as he couldn’t just leave even though he desperately wanted to go after Claire). When he got there the boys saw Claire was missing & Jamie was forced to admit that she was gone and probably not coming back ever. Seeing how upset Jamie looked they put two and two together to finally realise that Claire’s ‘boyfriend’ who was supposed to be coming to the show, was in fact Jamie.
Rupert was furious at Jamie for leading Claire on (he didn’t know marriage wasn’t real at this point) and threw a punch at him. There was a scuffle that was only broken up when the judges arrived. JDJ won the competition but the boys where so upset at Jamie for hurting Claire they refused to be anywhere near him & looked murderous when they all had to pose for the photo.
All in all a pretty shitty day for one James Fraser! 🌿🍃🌷
