Tim Horton’s French Vanilla Instant Mix, Round 2: me edition
Location: Costco
Price: $9.99 CAD for pack of 30 (half french vanilla / half hot chocolate)
Happy holidays everyone and wishing you the best this festive month (it’s currently December 1st), though this post might not be out until January.
Also this is the same photo as last time because I forgot to take a photo.
Taking heed of my mother’s mistake yesterday, I added less water and more milk. The approximate amount of milk I added in can be measured as thus: a long glooooooooooooooop, and then some.
Grandma: smells really good. The sweet is good. It’s very smooth, but maybe you put too much milk in it, so you’ve covered the coffee taste. Also it’s colder than it should be because the milk you added in is cold. Next time you should taste it first before adding more milk. It’s very smooth though.
Me: it smells really rich this time, or maybe I placebo affected myself with all the milk? Nope, it’s definitely the heated milk in there. Okay, I see (or taste, rather) what my pawpaw means by the milk overtaking the coffee taste. It feels way more milk than it does french vanilla or coffee. You could taste the french vanilla yesterday, but now it’s subdued, battered into submission by the milk. It’s just. French vanilla flavoured milk. Which is comforting! I like it! It’s sweet and smooth like honey milk! But it’s not what you want, I think, from french vanilla cappuccino. If hot FV milk is what I wanted and expected, it would be good. But it isn’t what I wanted or expected. I mourn the loss of french vanilla flavour.
(The next day, when I was pouring milk, grandma asked if I was making another cup, so she’s clearly interested).
