So everything is either in fire or drowning. #instagram #montana #morningsun #8ams
The conversation I have with myself every morning.
“What do you look forward to during your day?”
“Turner’s breakfast is what I look forward to when I wake up for my 8ams. It forces me to get up and get going. I guess it’s the small things in life that get me up and about, but I’d probably still be in bed if it weren’t for this.”
Me at 7 am: I'm going to bed at 9 o clock sharp tonight sir Me at 9 pm: HUH OOOOOPPPSSSSSS HMWK AND COLLEGE AND SHIT
8ams should be illegal.
I am not an adult yet, stop making me act like one.
How to “8am”
8am’s are rough. I happen to have one everyday this semester, so I am credible on this topic! Even if you don’t have an 8am, it can still be tough to get up for class...at anytime of the day. We’ve all hit snooze, thought about the costs of skipping class, and snuggled in for just a few more minuets. But it’s time to take advantage of our early mornings! Here are a few things you can do to make sure you’re up and ready for the day once that alarm goes off.
First, instead of the annoying beeping or phone jingle, set your alarm to a song. Use a peppy song or a really silly one to wake up to first thing in the morning. This will start your day off on a good note. It’ll also be less annoying than your phone’s alarm.
Second, look forward to something! After waking up to my alarm I like to think about something going on that day that I’m looking forward to. Sometimes it’s lunch with a friend, knowing that it’s Friday, or even the cup of coffee I’m about to make. By thinking ahead about the good parts of your day, you’ll be more likely to want to get started!
Third, make sure you turn some lights on! If you have a lamp right by your bed, turn it on as soon as your alarm goes off. It’s great to open the blinds of your window as soon as possible as well. This light will help you wake up and adjust to the day.
Fourth, do something active. After rolling out of bed I like to do a few jumping jacks. This gets my blood flowing and warms me up, especially if the room is chilly! After a few minuets of activity, it’s important to drink some water. This will replenish your body after your hopefully restful nights sleep and ultimately give you some energy. Being active and hydrated are great ways to wake up your body.
Next, get something to eat. Filling your body with something nutritious will only help! If you’re not a breakfast person, have a handful of granola or a banana. Make sure your body is fueled with something before you get too far along with your morning. This will help you out for the whole day!
Last but not least, coffee! Get some in the caf, the Cabin, Davies, or Einstein’s!
Hopefully these methods will work for your early morning! I know it can be a pain to get up so early but you really can do it!
See you bright and early, Blugolds!
