i think i remember it was just kinda decided that the babadook was gay, like as a community joke, then became the big thing as more people latched on. i dont remember there being anything *about* the babadook that made him gay, just that theres so little described about him that he totally could be. though im not exactly in the loop in terms of jokes, so i could be way off
