Tonight! So I have been to more than half the KJD Crews Parties over the last 2 years. Recently one of the founders Ronin Selecta aka Aaren Alseri decided to leave KJD's business side to focus on DJing and Music as an artist...
So is KJD Done after tonight?
Nope.
What does that mean then?
It means even more liquid funk and atmospheric drum and bass and jungle grooves from Ronin. We get to send him off in high fashion tonight as a part of the 4-Way tag set KJD has become so popular for. Even then don't expect him to stray too far, if anything expect to see more of Ronin Selecta.
Dilemma, Joey P, 8EN, and Ronin Selecta will descend on The Works tonight to show all the bass-heads in Detroit what local headliners look like. These dudes have like a combined musical experience well over 50 years. If that doesn't help, then come watch them tonight, I swear to you that even if Drum and Bass isn't your thing, you will leave second-guessing yourself.
They are joined by Matt Clarke who is doing a 3 turntable set. The dude has been leading the way in bass music for years, 3 tables has become the norm when seeing Matt, his shit is fucking amazing. (You can check Matt Clarke out Every Wednesday Night from Midnite to 2am on 99.1 in Downtown Detroit and Windsor. The show starts at 12:00am and goes till 2am every Wednesday.)
Other Konkrete Jungle residents playing tonight include Scotty V, Steve Dronez, Galaktis, and one of Detroit's Finest Bass Enthusiasts and pretty much the reason we get to see dubstep headliners for 5-10 bucks every month Calico. Between Datswotsup! and KJD Detroit has become utterly fucking spoiled when it comes to bass music. I couldn't thank these dudes enough. All of the aforementioned will be in the back room and is hosted by two of our favorite MC's, Bombscare and Teddy MC.
In the front room throwing down is Distinct Motive, Dub Down's Head Dekglo, The Vandal, Thread, and 1/2 the Midnite Jackers DJ Southside. I love that no matter what the party, KJD typically brings in a little bit of House in the red rooms or the patios. It changes the vibe of the party big time and also welcomes more House Heads to Bass Music Parties.
I've seen Southside and the Midnite Jackers countless times, and for good reason, he and they are incredible. Their production work gets dropped in my Disco and Funky House sets regularly. Their DJing capabilities... well just make sure to check Southside out, if you haven't yet then you will know why out of all the House DJ's in Detroit, Southside is the one repping 4 on the Floor tonight.

If you're really into interviews KJD posts interviews via Facebook with all their artists leading up to their events. I really wish more production companies would do this. It shows us how much they give a fuck about the people they book. It also makes so many companies look like all they see is $$$$$$$$. Get your shit right, treat the people you book like they're paying for your light bill, because they are.
I know that since it's the Saturday before Halloween that there are a million parties going on. I also understand that not everyone likes Drum and Bass. All I have to say about that is, WAHHH. Get your head out of your ass and get to the Works tonight. So much DnB and well OktoRed is doing visuals...
