GGSS2016

Summer time is almost over. But before the season ends, there’s still one event that made my Summer 2016 a memorable one. :)

Yearly, our company is having three special events. First is our Gandang Gandang SPi Global Summer (GGSS) every summer. Second is our yearly team building that was held usually every October and third is our yearly Christmas Party. I seldom get excited to our company’s activities though I always see to it that I participate. But this year’s GGSS gets me really hyped. One month before the event, it was announced via email. When I read the notification, my heart literally stopped for a second. Guess who the guest band is! Yay! It’s Parokya ni Edgar! Christmas has arrived 8months early! Hehe..

So the big day has arrived. Our call time is 6.30am but due of the delay, we left the company’s parking lot at around 8am in the morning. Headed to Bulacan and arrived at around 10am. My friends and I really don’t have the plan to go swimming. We just really went there to see the band. So we walk around the resort and had some picture taking. Waited for our lunch that was distributed at around 12pm then had some beer after.

Parokya will play at 3pm but because we are just excited as everyone around us, we waited at the front of the stage at 2pm. Had our merienda there (spaghetti and c2) still courtesy of the company. We are at the second line at the front of the stage. But at around 5mins before the band arrive, the organizer told us to stand up and come at the end of the stage. He said that that was what Chito wanted. And so we did! :)

Exactly 3.15pm when the members of the band took off from their van. First was Darius, then Dindin, then Paolo of Moonstar88 (in replacement of Buwi), then Gab and lastly, my everdearest idol, Chito! The mere sight of Chito made the crowd wild! The hype and the energy were unbelievable! I almost forgot to take pictures of them because of my excitement. They first sang Buloy then Torete in honor of Pao. Then Para Sa’yo and 8 other songs. I think (but not really sure), they sang 10 to 12 songs that day and that really made me soooooo happy! They sang Halaga, my most favorite of all their songs, last.

The week before our GGSS has been a tough one for me. Mentally. But as I’ve said it at my IG account, God really know how to make me happy. Long before I knew it, he already knows that there will be something that might depress me. And so he made it happen that Parokya ni Edgar, my favorite band, will play in our company’s summer outing and that I will be able to attend. I know it’s his plan from the start to comfort me. It’s my first time to see Chito and the whole band so up close. And for that, thank you so much Lord for the opportunity. :)

We left the resort at around 6.30pm with a happy and rocking heart! :)
