Hey! Saw your tag on the fatshion masterpost and thought I would respond just to clear up why I prefer that term (thats my side blog btw!) "plus size" implies that skinny is normal, and people who are bigger are plus, where at fatshion is literally just fashion for fat people, and that term was used because the post was not for skinny people, it only listed places that carry large sizes, so it was making the clarification that it wasnt thin ppl fashion :D

Being curvy/fat/over weight/whathaveyou, I find it very difficult feeling comfortable in clothing, especially clothing that has simply been made bigger but was designed for smaller people. So please don’t misunderstand. I really appreciate the masterpost!My very mild irritation with the term fatshion comes from a frustration to see more egalitarian progress in our society than society is currently able to give, as these things take time. I wish there wasn’t a need for the term fatshion. I wish it was just a standard that all clothing companies would adopt by providing more varied styles for more varied bodies and the personalities that in habit them without having to segregate us from what it considered “normal.”I hope you understand that the frustration isn’t directed at you or the new term (which is kinda catchy, to be honest). I just wish there wasn’t such a gap between sizes 0-10 and 12-∞, especially considering there are more sizes on the latter end of the scale.Again, thanks for being so polite! I wish I could see more of that on Tumblr.
