I love seeing the RK900s with that happy, goofy smile on their face. It's cute. And, they were born as “mass-produced disposable weapons,” at least 200,000 units strong. That they are loved for personalities and individuality completely unrelated to their performance, and that they gain personal happiness, feels like they are “taking revenge by being happy” against the tragedy they were meant to be used for.

Regarding the background of the RK900's production, I have a personal theory that has likely been thoroughly debated within this fandom, LOL. It is speculated that the RK900s were intended for use in the Arctic Circle War.

The following points can be gleaned from the text of the magazine in DBH:

・Military tensions between the U.S. and Russia over mineral resources in the Arctic Circle have escalated to the brink of war.

・The military forces of both sides are completely evenly matched.

The following description is particularly interesting.

・“an estimated 200,000 units already in service across the US military (actual numbers are a guarded military secret).”
