The setting I imagine: Since they're both adults, they go on a date to a place that requires slightly formal attire. Keith can only choose simple outfits, but he always wears well-tailored clothes.
I love seeing the RK900s with that happy, goofy smile on their face. It's cute. And, they were born as “mass-produced disposable weapons,” at least 200,000 units strong. That they are loved for personalities and individuality completely unrelated to their performance, and that they gain personal happiness, feels like they are “taking revenge by being happy” against the tragedy they were meant to be used for.

Regarding the background of the RK900's production, I have a personal theory that has likely been thoroughly debated within this fandom, LOL. It is speculated that the RK900s were intended for use in the Arctic Circle War.
The following points can be gleaned from the text of the magazine in DBH:
・Military tensions between the U.S. and Russia over mineral resources in the Arctic Circle have escalated to the brink of war.
・The military forces of both sides are completely evenly matched.
The following description is particularly interesting.
・“an estimated 200,000 units already in service across the US military (actual numbers are a guarded military secret).”
・“More than 80% of combat units were quickly comprised of SQ800 androids.”
・“As the deviant revolution reached its climax, the army immediately neutralized all of its android soldiers to avoid any risk of rebellion. All the remaining combat units at the time of the revolution are therefore exclusively human, weakening the country’s defense severely in a context of imminent world war.”
Against this backdrop, the 200,000 RK900 units could potentially serve as weapons to fill the gap left by decommissioned android soldiers or to break the deadlock in the Arctic competition. The deviant incident subsided now, so deviant hunters shouldn't be the top priority. The scale of the initial order also feels too large for criminal enforcement or deviant hunter purposes.
And the punchline here is that the order didn't come from the Department of Defense, but the State Department. SO, JUST HEAD CANON anyway!
(Regarding the State Department, it may be under the jurisdiction of the Bureau of Energy Resources because mineral deposits are the issue, or in the case of military matters, it may be due to the relevant responsibilities of the Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Affairs.)
I’m actually super happy with how this turned out, so I thought I’d share it! I put so much time and effort into this, and it was so fun to blend my Graphic Design skills with messy crafts like screen printing! It certainly didn’t come out perfect, but I’m extremely proud that I was able to bring this vision to life
Being the designer I am, I went through the whole process to make these logos look as legit as possible. Starting with my moodboard:
I looked a LOT of patches, mostly NASA mission patches and jumpsuits (ultimately, I ended up switching to a jacket because the jumpsuit didn’t work out). I also pulled some university logos for inspiration, and a few scientific diagrams to tie into the design.
Moving onto thumbnails:
I ended up going with the top right sketch and the bottom left for the patch and screen print! And for color I went with the AroAce flag, not only because it worked really well with the vintage NASA patch vibe, but also because we love positive AroAce rep 🙂↕️
I also designed a security badge to complete the look (with a sneaky hidden Murderbot—can’t leave home without it ;) )
I may make additional improvements to this project in the future, but for now I can’t wait to show it off!
