I was just scrolling through my Netflix list when I stumble across K Project. I literally scroll past it five times, at one point even reminding myself that I'm in the process of six shows already, before saying screw it and pressing play. I am not even a minute in and I'm bawling over the beginning credits I am not okay.

I binge-read “say again your last” during the week (worth it) and haven’t stopped thinking about it. It really is so good !!! I can’t wait for the prequel/sequel so pls tell us anything about it !!!

In my mind, the sequel is just gonna be 20k of the night they get together. Brad’s own internal struggle between wanting and feeling like he can’t let himself have. Not PWP bc I am me lol but like,

After they get back from Iraq, after Ray waited and waited for Brad to finally say they could talk about it, Ray gives up and drives over to Brad’s. Their first time is angry, because Brad is so fucking mad at Ray for making him want and not letting him ignore it, but then once the anger is out of Brad’s system, he calms down. He and Ray have a night together of fucking and watching TV and shooting the shit, and it’s so fun, and so easy, and so natural. It feels like how it’s supposed to be. It’s enough that, for a second, it makes Brad forget that it can’t happen again, and Brad wants it more than anything.

But.

The Corps. Brad’s commitment issues. Ray not re-upping and how fucking young he still is.

“This can’t happen again, Ray,” Brad says.

“I know,” Ray agrees, but his smile is dimming, too.

“I mean it, Ray. It can’t.”

“Homes, I get it,” Ray says, and the way he smiles almost makes Brad want to walk it all back. “But fuck if it wasn’t one for the bank.”

Brad nods. He thinks about saying nothing, but that doesn’t really feel fair to Ray, not after everything. He settles on the entirely too truthful, “Wish it could, though.”

Ray scoffs and rolls his eyes.

“Homes,” he says. “If you don’t stop saying shit like that, I’m gonna start thinking you might be gay.”

Brad recognizes what Ray’s doing, how he’s already deflecting and trying to create space in the name of self-preservation, and Brad hates that, but he would be an asshole if he didn’t let Ray do it. And so he lets Ray do it.

And anyway, after coming together angry and then reaching a high of being so fucking happy together, and then after the low of realizing it’s a fucking pipe dream that can’t ever happen, they fuck one more time, and then Ray leaves, and I have the last scene written and it’s so good, I just need to write, oh, everything else. Lol
