Photographing my 94 year old Father is an ongoing project. Firstly I am fascinated by how he negotiates the world with the perspective of a 94 year old and secondly the images are my way of preserving the time we have together. He is patient when I run and fetch the camera, and long suffering when he turns round to find me on the floor with a wide angle lens. This is the car that John built, as a Dinky toy. It was called the Protea and was the first custom built vehicle to be manufactured in South Africa. It is now a collectors item and two are housed in museums; one at L'Ormarins in Franchoek and the other at Beaulieu in England. The rest are all privately owned.
