When life imitates art: After release of the new Ride 5 race simulation game I find myself looking for one of those outrageously colored Triumph 955i Speed Triples... Rareld did any motorcycle manufacturer dare to release such a mixture of wild design choices (i.e. big butt rear seat cowl, super long end can, screaming neon candy colors, oddball double chrome chopper front lights). However, as I had one of those (in black) I know these are very entertaining to ride. Suspension was a bit harsh and the front brakes were powerful, but a bit vicious. Later on I wondered how these motorcycles would work with emphasis on an more naked stance (no flyscreen, no radiator fairing parts), higher spec suspension parts and improved brakes. In Ride 5 this is just a matter of minutes using the „tuning garage“ editor, in real life this is a new restomod project…

As these machines are now nearly 20 years old, finding a well kept one to start will be a first step…
