YUME - Warm
In short order, the wonderful roster of 95SOUND has become one of my favorite collectives out there. The funny thing is, I didn't realize it until very recently; great artists like Patchley, Glo, and MXRA have been favorites for a while, and little did I know they were all connected. The artist I've followed the longest however, featured today, is the wonderful YUME. If you've visited this blog before, you should be well acquainted with the world YUME is able to create through sound. YUME’s newest release, eternity+, shows the artist as strong as ever.
While I first felt inclined to feature tracks such as “Prayer IV” or “Fragment(s)” in this space, which are classic YUME, I realized the one that stuck out the most was “Warm”, as elements of smooth jazz and trap beats coalesce for a wonderfully breezy three-minute spin. “Warm” is indicative that YUME has more gears than the ones we already knew they excelled at, and that such experiments are worth conducting. You can listen to the entirety of eternity+ on Bandcamp; in addition, I strongly encourage you to follow 95SOUND on SoundCloud, as their entire roster is excellent. As always, enjoy.
