Day 67 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - Making my Japan dream happen Finally, I'm moving forward with my Japan dream again. After I bought tickets 3 months ago, I havem't really done anything to prepare for the trip. Yeah I've been saving money, I looked into Airbnb options, but I wasn't taking it seriously. Suddenly, I found myself researching about the visa application again and I felt a sudden rush to push forward and finalize everything perfectly to get our visa approved. I don't know why I didn't do this 3 months ago, but now I am! From now on, I will constantly remind myself of this goal. The days will pass no matter what I do, so I better do one small thing everyday that will make this dream happen. Yosh! I've been stuck in a rut lately but I think I just got out.

The boom of the information age has given us consumers the ability to make smarter choices. Based on Tech In Asia's video, I believe live streaming of farms will do the same. I can't help but wonder though - will they also live stream their abattoirs? As a plant-strong millenial who chose this lifestyle for the planet and animal reasons, I believe it's not a matter of seeing how clean and organized an animal farm is, but making us see the cruelty behind the shut doors of slaughterhouses. It's not about seeing how humanely the animals are taken care of, but showing us the negative effects of animal agriculture (e.g. global warming) Of course, I doubt the businessmen will allow this so I hope that with the information available to us online, we will be curious enough to request and push for it to happen. Who knows? Maybe that's the eye-opener we all need for change.

Day 65 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - Moana and Mother Nature

Also, I watched Moana earlier and I think it’s partly about how humans are abusing Mother Nature.

I love it - especially the scene where Moana tasted a piece of pork and her pet pig felt disappointed haha

I wish they’d include more of that in future Disney films to slowly make people realize the disconnect in owning an animal and eating an animal.

Day 64 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - Watching documentaries for self-awareness I'm maximizing my Netflix subscription by watching more documentaries. First on my list was The Human Experiment and it opened my eyes about the harmful chemicals that is in every product that we're consuming. I thought the contributors of our digital magazine were being exaggerated with their organic and wellness tips. Apparently, I was uneducated and lacked awareness haha I think this will push me to be more mindful of the products I will be using from now on 💪

Day 63 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - Still learning nihongo from Terrace House Scholastic no book buffet tanoshimi 😁 Kokohaku ga suki haha I'm drowning at work and at the end of the workday I find myself wanting to shut off my laptop and just watch Netflix. I guess that's fine as long as I'm learning something from the show I'm watching.

Day 62 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - The secrets to success are grace and time

I needed to hear today's talk at the Feast. I just have this preconceived notion that as soon as I start doing this learning by doing series, I'll immediately acquire the high-paying skills I need to finally book another high-paying client before this year ends. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet and I've been feeling impatient. So to hear that I need time and grace calmed me in a way. I think based on the graph, this learning posts is situated near the beginning. I have to continue going, doing and believing that someday I'll make it. After all, success doesn't happen to me, I make it happen. Yosh!

Day 61 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - Netflix cancellation

I was expecting a cancel button/link in this email because I'm planning to cancel my trial membership. Then I realized...why would Netflix do that when they already have my debit card info, right? Anyway, I want to try out this kind of automated email once my client agrees to using a tool that collects card info - instead of recurring Paypal payments.

Day 60 of #96daysoflearningbydoing - Expressing myself better I was catching up with a friend today and I hated myself for stuttering everytime I talked. Yes, I'm already on a journey to improving my oral communication, but it still hits me hard whenever I do it. Ugh. I wish I knew how to speak well like Sarah Kay 😭 Anyway, I will continue taking videos of myself. I think vlogging will help me cure this. PS. I love dairy-free ice cream!!!
