Don't Skip to Conclusions
So, I had to tutor today...
And I was having a difficult time tutoring this middle schooler, because I didn't know what he did and didn't know. Apparently, I was over explaining when he said "I'm doing high school math"
Oh thank God. But then he continued on.
I gave a half amused look and said "I seriously doubt that".
"But I'm doing 9th grade math."
"And I'm in 12th grade." Holy crap. That kid's eyes kinda popped out of his sockets and he looked back down and didn't try to say anything else.
But then a tutor next to me said, "I'm in Algebra II."
"That's cool," I replied. He leaned back in his chair and he was in a position that pretty much said "yep, I'm that advanced".
"I'm in Calculus," I replied. He sat up in his seat and tried to pretend that it never happened.
Is it bad that I find this amusing?
It's like what my dad always told me, "Never assume. 'Cause then you'll make an ASS out of YOU and ME"
