Silver: Messenger of The Future - Sonic X Project 10
The future Silver comes from a future devastated by the Chaos Ameba, where Sonic Exe succeeded in his mission to defeat Sonic and his friends, leading to the 10th Timeline's inevitable corruption by the virus. Disease began to spread amongst the residents like the other timeline previously infected by Exe, turning the place inhospitable and lethal for anyone not equipped with heavy protection suits to prevent skin damage.
Blaze Transported into the future through the Sol Emeralds, Blaze formed a bond with Silver that kept the two alive despite the dire conditions. The dangers of the dystopian future made it unfeasible for Blaze to gather the Sol Emeralds and return to her dimension, so her focus instead was to defeat the source of the infection: Sonic Exe. This burden that she wished to avoid putting on Silver led to her facing the cannibal and his Project all by herself, an effort that was too much for one person alone. When Silver found her, it was too late- she had not only fallen victim to the infection, but was outright devoured by Sonic Exe. Now Silver was all alone, with nothing to cling onto. Driven to the edge, his hopes of saving his present world turned into rage, for the one who caused this calamity. He put all of himself into a desperate attack against the monster that took everything from him, but in his carelessness, his suit was damaged. He had to flee, else he'd risk loosing what he had left: his consciousness, his memories, the last mark Blaze had left in this world.
Time Travel Outraged and feeling lost, Silver was back to square one. When once Blaze would give him a path to follow, now he knew nothing on what could be done. He flew as far as he could from everything and everyone, away from the ruined cities that once gave him shelter and into the wilderness. There, he'd see not light, but the biggest of shadows cast upon the vast, lifeless plains. Yet, it carried hope within. Little Planet was visiting the Earth once more, and there in the clearer sky of the plains, Silver could see it clearly. He knew not of its story, but he was drawn to it nonetheless. He flew towards it, finding environments full of life, unaffected by the doings of Exe. A place that had escaped his attention, his influence, a safe haven… But Silver knew that he couldn't stay there forever, and he couldn't lead others to it, else he'd risk reminding Sonic Exe of this annual phenomenon. But instead he searched, and searched, until he found one- a gem stone, with the power to transport him back in time. Without even knowing, he activated its powers, and found himself back on Earth, but this time, he saw a sky so blue with a sun shining so bright, his eyes burned with awe.
The Past Silver initially confuses Sonic for a version of Sonic Exe that still hasn't been infected and attempts to kill him as a means of preventing a bigger tragedy. Thankfully, this mistake is cleared up rather quickly, and he instead joins forces with them to put a stop to the past Exe and Project 10, who are currently looking for the Chaos Emeralds to enact their plan. Silver feels extremely guilty for the death of Blaze and is desperate to stop it from happening, making it so for the longest time, his usual optimism was replaced with blind rage and an inability to enjoy life in this other time period.
Project 10 Separated from her "creator", 10 winds up meeting Silver when the two were looking for the same Chaos Emerald by themselves. That was their first interaction, and when he first got a glimpse of something he had never seen in the future version of her: a real soul. This peaked his interest for the assistent, whom he had initially dismissed as a lesser enemy. When Tails later brought up that 10 had previously worked with them but had all her memories of them seemingly wiped, Silver understood that she wasn't inherently evil, and was simply being mishandled by her current leader. He then assisted Tails in this secondary mission to bring 10 back to their side, in the hopes that maybe, this could be a shortcut to saving the future.
The Search's End With her original code restored, 10 was willing to pretend to still be an ally of Sonic Exe for the team's benefit, whilst simultaneously resuming her originally interrupted research on the meaning of love. In this moment, Silver saw true beauty where most would only see a replica of real life, and it brought back to him the memories of what he truly stood for. His true mission wasn't to destroy, but to preserve life on earth for people like her and Blaze. The two spent more and more time together, with the both eventually developing romantic feelings for each other, opening a whole new layer to 10's research, which filled the both of them with hope of what the future now sought for them. 10 felt that this new page was a mark in her history and decided that she wanted to abandon the name once associated with Sonic Exe. She turned to the one she now trusted the most: Silver, who gave her the new name "Reverse". Trivia -His suit was taken from an abandoned G.U.N. base -The marks on his palms show through his gloves only when he uses his powers -He thought of the name 'Reverse' because he believes she does the complete opposite of what a regular machine would
