Yup!

There's only one in existence with the colors that my current dragon has, and she doesn't have the same genes and she's exalted. The one I want to check is an obsidian/maroon/maroon guardian with irishim and belly. She's be the only one of her kind

wow you're right, it does. he says he originally got the idea from some thing in Magic the Gathering where when you play, after you win, you get all of the other person's cards?? but then I pointed out that you're not winning the other person's dragon, they're just dying, and he says yeah it does sound more like the nuzlocke challenge but it's not where he got the idea from. but you're totally right.
