Eli listened as Lucas rattled off another fact about the exhibit they were viewing at the Natural History museum. Apparently, his submissive knew a lot. Like...a LOT. And for just a moment, it confused him why the man was a waiter. Then he chided himself quickly. Maybe he genuinely liked being a server. Still, he could so see Lucas working here. 

Eli looked up at Lucas with a bit of awe. “You really should work at a museum. It’s like you belong here.”

“It feels so mysterious.” Eli looked around in awe at the glittering throng of people, masked and dressed to the nines. There was almost a palpable tension in the air, an aura of anything being possible. He turned glance at Lucas, gaging his reaction. “What do you think, darling?”

Eli kept his arm around Lucas’ waist as they walked through the party, taking in the sights. It was in the back of his mind that they would most likely run into his family this evening. His parents being who they were, of course they would be there. But he didn’t occur to him to worry about it overly much. He didn’t actively avoid his parents or siblings. It wasn’t even that they didn’t get along. They just didn’t really...fit. Maybe that’s why he hadn’t warned Lucas in advance. He just didn’t think about it.

“Have I told you how amazing you look tonight?”

Eli was thrilled to spot Lucas in the crowd. He’d not been lying to Remy about wanting to find out more about the other man and his dimples. In typical Eli fashion he bounded up to Lucas and popped up in front of him like a rabbit on crack. “Hey! Want to test out a theory I have?”
