Social Media, PH 402, Analysis Activity 1, Week 12
This week I will be comparing two counties in California. Those two counties are San Diego and San Fransisco. Something I immediately noticed upon going over both websites is that San Diego has yet to hit a milestone, while San Fransisco has already hit a milestone. San Diego has 7 likes while SF has greater than 10. San Diego, however, has a higher engagement rate when compared to SF. San Diego also has more posts per day when compared to SF. While both are failing to have competitive timing when it comes to posts on pages. One thing that SF can improve on is there likes, shares and comments. The community members of SF would be encouraged to see their city engaging in social media. While another thing that San Diego can use is hashtags. These little hashtags are very in right now and San Diego is completely missing the beat. Both cities should allow everyone to post on their timeline, this gives the community members a sense that they can be involved and inform the social media folks what’s going on in their cities for residents and visitors alike. San Diego also needs to have a specified website. This will aid in the end of confusion throughout SD facts.
