Rough Week

Was only able to play the game once this week, and played in @technicallyswagpizza​‘s Ainali. Didn’t get the chance to do anything for Meadow Glen to Harveston County and I am just shy of enough pictures (at the time of this post, at least) to post this week.

I’ve been trying to find a new place to live while battling agoraphobia in a county on the watch list for turning purple on the coronavirus map and the person I room with is immunocompromised. So... fun times (no, seriously being sarcastic in case this is missed).

We both actually like the place and location where we are now, but our landlord wont fix anything. We’ve got a long laundry list of things they wont take care of for example we’ve been washing our dishes in bins and pouring the water out in our bathrooms since spring. And after speaking to neighbors we learned they’re not fixing their stuff either. Pretty much everyone who lived here when we moved in has left in just the last couple of months.

Needless to say this has gotten in the way of my simming and I’ve given up trying to play the game on the days I work on this blog. I’ve come a long way in my mental health journey, but I’m still not at a place where I can do a lot of activities without getting overwhelmed and crashing. The good news though, is that when I did play, I really enjoyed myself and anticipate playing again when I can.

Here are more pictures from the Farming Town spin off series which takes place in @technicallyswagpizza‘s custom world Ainali. The original world features a rabbithole grocery store, and instead of replacing it with a custom lot from the internet or creating my own, I decided to try and open it up.

This was actually the first time I attempted this kind of build, and I think I did an okay job.

These exterior shots were taken in the wee hours of the sim morning, so I apologies if they are a bit dark. The interior shots which will be posting next are much brighter.

What’s this? An Accident?

It seems that not only has some poor unfortunate sim crashed a stolen taxi into the stone gate just outside the police station, but that the driver is none other than Demeter Thomas, Ainali’s own emergency dispatcher.

This was one of the strange errors I encountered when I realized I never finished setting up for this game. I have no idea if this is an issue with the world, some mod issue, or just one of those random once in a lifetime glitches that happens when you play The Sims 3 as it has not occurred a second time thus far. 

But it sure did make me laugh.

I actually didn’t even realize this kind of glitch/situation/routing issue or whatever it was, was possible and that I caught it on camera.... 

To really understand how amazing it was that I got these pictures I should note that this did not even happen on the side of the neighborhood where I was testing. I was going back and forth between the science facility I built and your town hall lot and the police station is still where you put it. I can’t even say for sure how I ended up checking the station. I just remember getting an NRAAS notification, and only reading it because I was getting mad that I kept getting notifications for other households when I thought I’d customized Stories to just update me about relatives (I hadn’t, lol). 

I think I remember seeing something about taxis right before I deleted the message, and I went to map view and somehow ended up zooming in on the police station. Before I got the shot there was another empty Taxi present. Like the abandon ones the game sometimes spits out that NRAAS cleans up. So I used Testing cheats to delete the first Taxi cars were just stacking there for some reason and then noticed there was a sim in the other car.

I have absolutely no idea how the “crash” happened, but yeah, we’ll go with the roads were super slippery, lol. That still, however, doesn’t explain why Demeter didn’t use her own car to get to work. It was literally in her personal inventory. Maybe my emergency dispatcher is a kleptomaniac. I didn’t give her any criminal leaning traits though.

These are of the computer room which is overlooked by the library.

So I actually built this room specifically to use that giant wall calendar. I have no idea where I got that piece of cc from, but I didn’t initially realize it wasn’t single floor wall height. I’m pretty sure I downloaded it to use in an apartment, but built the apartment first and then was like wow that’s too big. I could have used Buhudian’s OMSP resizer to shrink it, but it doesn’t always work so well for wall items.
