World Elder Abuse Awareness Day : lifting up voices. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is celebrated on 15th of June every year which was officially recognised by United Nations General Assembly in 2011. WHO defines elder abuse as “a single or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust which causes harm or distress to an older person”. The motive behind this day is to bring people together to discuss the problems regarding old age people, to raise voice againt any kind of physical or mental abuse. Meanwhile, on the other hand, the UN proposed the campaign, "Safeguard older persons during COVID-19 and beyond" for the betterment of the elderly. .
