i cannot fathom going on ONLY 6-8 minute runs like some of the sprint folk i know. Like i feel like these are two different sports and your advice here may not apply to people like me but okay.
#dogblr#mushing#some of these dogs have never worked for more than 15 minutes in a row and that's interesting#a choice...#like i take longer doing weight pull sessions than these dog's entire time in harness in a day#like i get it's fast and fun#but um.....enjoying scenery and silence in the woods for a few hours tho#i just find it amusing when people with teams like this try to give long distance people advice#bc they are essentially two different sports#a 100m elite sprinter cannot talk shop that easily with a marathon runner#like idk i just have so much fun OUT THERE you know the longer the better#unless its really fucking cold bc my hands get cold really fast#but i am trying to remedy this with better clothing this year#(all my clothes are downhill ski base which needs to breathe a lot more than just sitting on the back of a sled/rig)#when i mean cold i do mean -10 too -20 F#this is re: people that run their dogs for 10 minutes at a time telling people doing long distance that their dogs shouldn't be trotting#or sprint people being dissapointed a dog is trotting#bc LMAO#i hate when my dogs canter please trot
