A Cold Dish | Mathias & Jason
The hood is roughly ripped from Mathias' face. He feels groggy, like he's been drugged, but he tries opening his eyes. The room is shadowy with one high, overhead light. The light only seems to illuminate him and the circle he's sitting in. He's awake enough to know that he's tied to some kind of chair and that his pyjamas are dirty and torn. He glances around, but can see very little beyond the stone circle.
The circle is elevated and he realizes that it's some kind of chamber with stone archways around it. He might be mistaken, but there seems to be hooded figures standing in the archways. Perhaps they are only statues, but his vision is still too blurry to tell. Feebly, he tries to tug at his bonds and free himself, but he knows that it's no use. Instead, he calms himself and conserves his energy for when the drug wears off.
Suddenly one of the figures moves. It slowly steps away from the archway and makes its way up to the stone circle.
Mathias tries to calm his racing heart. Even after all he's been through, this situation is new to him and he has no idea what to expect. When the figure is standing right in front of him, he catches a glimpse of the man's face and the wind is knocked out of him. He shakes his head, unable to believe what he's seen.
