That’s Where You’ll Find Me
Chapter 19: A Complication
Fandom: Teen Wolf / The Wizard of Oz AU
Characters: Stiles + Lydia, Prada, Allison, Scott, Alan Deaton
The little girl began to weep, she was so much disappointed. - L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz
Alli and Scott volunteered to stay with Prada, so Lydia and Noah take the elevator up to see the Emissary. For the first couple of floors, they quietly stand, side by side.
Noah is the one to extinguish the silence. “Okay, I’ve gotta ask…”
“Yeah?” she replies, eyeing his reflection in the polished bronze doors.
“Is it weird that I kinda assumed you and I would be sharing a room?”
The residual heaviness lifts from her shoulders. “No,” she exhales. “I did too.”
“You did?” Noah asks as they turn to face each other.
“Uh-huh, and then I thought about it and….”
“It wouldn’t be fair to Scott and Alli.”
“No, it wouldn’t. And it wouldn’t be fair to you either.”
“Me?”
“You deserve some time with Scott,” she says, “I’ve been monopolizing every second—”
“Don’t say that.” He takes her hand in both of his, holding it close to his chest, not quite touching but almost. “Every minute I have with you… It feels like a gift, Lydia.”
“It feels that way to me too,” she tells him, reaching for his cheek.
She closes her eyes on contact, feels Noah lean into her palm as the elevator comes to a stop.
Her eyes meet his as the doors glide open.
There’s no time to say anything other than what her heart is begging her to say, “Don’t let go.”
“I won’t,” he promises, tapping his heart twice.

The idea was so brilliant to them at the time that it carried them through London’s streets almost instantly. It was perfect! It’s just laying a trap, one that can be of slight inconvenience to Jasper and Frank but not too lethal. Probably. So brilliant that it wasn’t until Casey was at Lamia’s door when they realize they never sent any word to let her know of their arrival. Not brilliant.
Nonetheless, the beginnings were set. Casey had taken their time to Lamia’s house, stopping to talk to the right people and spread just enough hints about what could happen. Forgotten Quarter. A pursuit. Going back to search the ruins, desperately clinging to old clues that don’t give much else away... With the right people, the gossip would eventually spread to the wrong people. This was the intended result.
So they arrive: a bag slung over their shoulder with old street signs rattling around, a small (unarmed) pistol at the bottom somewhere, the ammunition safely stowed away. Lamia’s door loomed up in front, and they approach it to give it a hefty knock.
"a complication is where he says he’s currently at musically, and i’m all in. Noise Arcade’s sound is definitely not of this dimension, hasn’t been and most likely never will be, and i’m happy to be taking the intergalactic ride with him." - Far East Vibes
so now if my blood sacrifices worked we should get SOMETHING good on the deancas front, please, s o m e t h i n g
Can you really complicate a simplistic notion? Is anything really simplistic? What is happiness?
