THE CURE MV SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD IM OBSESSED
lowkey hate when the fandom draw meg cause they make her so bulkish and muscular like yes pookie got muscles but tone that shit down yall do this to Black women a lot 😭 I CANT GET ALL MY WORDS OUT BUT JUST KNOW I KNOW WHAT IM SAYING
Annon-Guy: Also, I know Sheena shows a LOT of skin in her swimsuit, but aren't Marta, Alice, Raine and Presea showing some skin in their swimsuits. Colette only shows her legs off.
They are all showing a lot of skin, but it’s where the skin is showing and why that kind of irks me. Rain shows cleavage, but for the most part, her suit covers everything pretty modestly. the suit has a skirt element to cover her legs, and the top looks like it covers everything else except the cleavage. Presea is showing some tummy, but it covers cleavage and doesn’t look like it leaves anything down below hanging out. Marta’s is probably the second most sexy, but since she doesn’t have much to show off, she’s not really exposing anything. Her bottoms even have a skirt element so it veers more toward cute than sexy to me. Alice has some tummy but again, there’s no cleavage and nothing in the thigh area that gives hints of ass or forbidden territory. But Sheena? Sheena’s suit not only shows cleavage but it shows side boob. It’s very tight to the point where you can kind of see her bellybutton. The second version in the group photo shows a similar suit but it cuts down all the way to just above anything objectionable but it leaves a LOT of the bikini zone open. The belly skin by the crease of her legs is totally open. I’m not the best person to speak about this because I’m not thin, but if I wore something like that, my bits would fall out. My final objection is that if you look at the finer details... none of the other girls except Sheena are SHINY. Sheena’s legs, hips, and suit are all shiny. Now maybe that’s sunscreen and maybe the other girls have cloth suits and Sheena’s is some kind of leathery fabric, but it’s still... very sexual. I don’t know how to explain, but the extra level of detail on Sheena and ONLY Sheena implies that we’re meant to view HER as eye-candy. None of the other girls or boys are shiny. I could also say that the tied-together elements in the suit are reminiscent of bondage, but that’s kind of a reach, though there is something to be said about the fact that one sharp rock is all it would take to make Sheena’s suit basically fall apart. IDK, I don’t really have an issue with there being sexy characters on principle. Sex appeal is great~ I think Richter is a very sexy man and I love the slutty elements of his Lord of Flames transformation. And independently of everything else, I do like Sheena’s suit and think it’s sexy. My problem with it is that there are no men drawn with oiled/shiny skin and there are no boys with swimsuits more revealing than trunks. Even Zelos, the slutty man himself, is wearing a shirt on the beach. It’s less Sheena’s suit that bothers me and more that she’s relegated to being eye-candy. Sex appeal is awesome and I have no problem with sexy characters. I just have a problem with the double standard. Even someone beefy like Regal who wears very little in the way of clothes is framed more as a power-fantasy for guys than sexy eye-candy for the girls. Even Zelos, pretty-boy extraordinaire, is covered up in his beach outfit. None of the boys are shiny like “look at me and my body oil!” It’s only Sheena. Now, if in future one of the remaining boys gets a shiny/slutty outfit, that’d be great~ I’d feel a lot better about Sheena’s suit. But until then, the only comparable things we really have on the guy’s side is Richter’s Lord of Flames crotch-teasing chest dip and regal’s crop top.
Hmmm.
the way this is worded made me laugh but that’s so sweet! he seems like a good person
Frank! I’d never heard that story. 💞

How I Feel About Insatiable
*I am trying to be as understanding as I can**
I did not like most of the characters on the show. Although the motives were clear, they just continued to be trash people with little to no consequence that met an outlandish action.
The comedic timing was off for so many characters that it led me to believe that only a small portion of the cast has ever done comedy.
I am failing to see the "dark" aspect of comedy because all I was served was Patty being a murderer (that may end up getting away with it). Yes, I am aware that self defense can be an argument for her, but I'm sure a jury would say otherwise.
Folks have already touched on the statutory rape and pedophilia allegations that happen. I may be getting old, so I also didn't find those storylines funny. I found myself agreeing with Coralee and being like "Bob stay the fuck away from the underage girl that clearly wants to fuck you. Please stop you are going to catch a case".
I also think the show was doing too much in terms of storylines per episode and because of that, I felt like certain episodes dragged.
What I did enjoy is that Nonnie got to explore her way out of the closet. The lovely women of the LGBTQ center coming in clutch to save the day. A trans character being portrayed by a trans actress. A mutual discussion and shared experience about body dysmorphia. Patty's mom being able to get her abuser arrested- maybe not for that exact charge, but it'll do. Someone stepping in when they see their friend in danger à la Nonnie and Brick. I also enjoyed Bob trying to explore his sexuality. (I think that's it I'm probably missing more but this is getting long and I am tired)
At the end of the day, I have mixed feelings about this show. I don't love it by any means, but I also don't hate it. I am coming from a place of someone that's never struggled with my body weight. I hear everyone that has and for the sake of their mental health not seen the show because of it and that's perfectly okay. Please take care of yourselves.
This show has many problems and it shows signs that it can possibly develop into something better. All in all, I'm glad that it made a few people laugh, the world is high-key going to shit everyday. So, please enjoy what you can. I just don't think I'll be watching again if there's a season 2.
