Taking in Tuesday softly today. We start off the afternoon with McCreary's "A Distant Sadness."
I saw "A Distant Sadness" from Battlestar Galactica being used in a video about the Armenian genocide.
I think it was very appropriate - the lyrics, the language...
A Distant Sadness - Bear McCreary
Okay, ignore me for a while, because I'm gonna have a fangirl-spasm:
I've just realized that there are already hints at THE song from the finale of Battlestar Galactica in episode 3x01 "Occupation" or rather in the song which is played during that episode, "A Distant Sadness"!
This is really insane! Bear McCreary is either a genius or this was a complete coincidence. Anyway, finding that out only now - I'm currently watching the show for the third time - is a bit sad, too. *lol*
I'm also having a second, minor fangirl-geek-spasm, because I've finally looked up the lyrics from that song and found out that they're in Armenian and that they have a meaning which relates to the episode as well:
A distant and familiar sadness calls to us, As if carried on the wind, like burning sand. Brothers and Sisters, away, you endure, Stranded on our own land. A memory etched into soul and skin Leaves a scar that never heals. Our family is strong, but scattered Across the stars and fields. We will not abandon you. We will not forget you. We will return for you...

I think I'm more in love with this show right now, than I've ever been before. IF that is even possible. :D ;)
This is EPIC. If I'll ever consider fleeing Earth this will play in the backround of my deranged mind.
Day 04- Your favorite music
I can only pick one????
A Distant Sadness (Season 3, track 1; from “Occupation”)
RUNNERS-UP, in no particular order:
Starbuck on the Red Moon (“You Can’t Go Home Again”)
Baltar Panics (“Six Degrees of Separation”)
Destiny (“Kobol’s Last Gleaming, Part II”)
Baltar’s Dream (“Valley of Darkness”)
Lords of Kobol (“Pegasus”)
Roslin and Adama (“Resurrection Ship, Part I and II”)
Gaeta’s Lament (“Guess What’s Coming to Dinner?”)
Are You Alive?/Main Title (“Miniseries, Part I”)
Starbuck Buck Buck (“Miniseries, Part I”)
Honestly, I was only able to narrow it down to ten. I picked the favourite by closing my eyes and clicking at random in iTunes. Bear McCreary is really a phenomenal composer, as is Richard Gibbs, who did the miniseries.
