so i've been thinking about bolaire and this post by @honourablejester which mentions that thalia was a muse of comedy, and it occurred to me that bolaire's greatest affectation is his laugh. when thjazi dies, he laughs. when he is surprised, he laughs. when he finds himself in a bad situation, he laughs. the first thing we learn about him is that he laughs at inappropriate moments.

how much do you guys want to bet that bolaire is, at his core, a comedy mask?

Do you think Jax "the funny one" was drawn to Pomni because, like Kaufmo, they're aesthetic match the way he chooses to perceive himself (jokesters, Pomni being a jester and Kaufmo being a clown) so in a way that's something in common they have that's just small enough that he can seek companionship from them without getting in too deep after whatever happened with Ribbit?
