close up under the cut bc this took... longer than i'll admit
Just a brief little holiday drabble, but wanted to write it out real quick for funsies, mostly fluff but just a touch of angst (which makes the fluff sweeter imo) hope you enjoy!
Word Count: 863
You feel incredibly lazy today, haven't done much of anything at all. Though to be fair it's cold out, snowing. Has been for hours, days really. You're not too sure, truthfully. You don't know the time either, just a quick glance out the darkened window tells you it's later in the day. You don't mind. In here it's nice, warm.
The fireplace crackles across the room, lighting it with a soft yellow glow. Though it's warmth isn't what is keeping you cozy at the moment. That's a different heat source entirely.
You stretch a little bit, having woken up from a nap just a bit ago. As you stretch the other body you're—practically—entangled with shifts, grumbling. You snicker lightly as heavy arms move around your torso, squeezing lightly in warning as you sit up just a bit more. You lightly bat at the hands thinking they'll retreat. Using your words to help your case.
"Tenna... come on, let me up."
It has the opposite effect of what you were hoping. Pulled back down to lay against him as he sighs.
You feel his screen snuggle into the crook of your neck. Best it can, anyway. "No need to get up... Just stay right... here. Warmer, nicer than anywhere else." A rumbling yawn. "Don't... leave."
You giggle, hand coming up to grip one of his. "I just want to stretch, maybe get a drink—"
"No..." He whines, burying further against you, the blanket coming up to engulf you both further.
Despite your protests, he stays in place, you think pretending to have fallen asleep again based on how his breathing settles. You wait a moment, then shove at his arms, not budging.
"Tenna." You say, firm.
No response.
You sigh. "Tens if you let me up you can hold my hand while I warm up some coco, that fair?"
Quiet.
"And I'll give you extra marshmallows and whip cream, now let me up!"
Suddenly letting go, you almost tumble off the couch. Throwing a scowl over your shoulder as Tenna's screen turns on, expression nonchalant, innocent. But it shifts when you abandon him there, getting up and walking to the kitchen as he calls after you.
As you're heating up the stove, you hear him shuffle in behind you. A few seconds later you're surrounded by him and the blanket, his chin resting on your shoulder as he watches you stir.
You reach your free hand up and pat the side of his head, feeling air rush from his vents as you do.
"I like this." He says after a bit.
You huff a soft laugh. "The coco?"
"You know that's not what I mean." Mumbling, arms coming up to hold you from behind. "This. Just the two of us, getting to hold you close."
Something in you twists, falters. Heart sinking deep in your chest.
For a brief instance, you're somewhere else. Still in your living room. No fire, no fireplace. Curled up on the couch still, but not as comfortably. Still with someone, but more some thing, rather. Nobody has ever said CRTs were good for cuddling—
You swallow, ignoring the nagging at the back of your head. "Yeah. It's nice isn't it?"
Nodding, shifting to plant a kiss to your neck. "Mhm."
You start to pour the coco into two mugs.
"I don't want it to end."
Your breath hitches then. Quiet, soft enough you hope he didn't hear it.
Hands guide you to set down the spoon, arms pull you back into him. You stand there a moment. Swallowed up in limbs and warmth and him.
You want to fall back into it, stay there forever. You would, you would if you could.
But that's not how it goes.
You reach up, hold him back, and press the side of your head against his.
"Me neither. So let's enjoy it while it lasts, yeah?" You twist around, cradling his face in your hands. The look he has makes you giggle, a pout through and through. A bit pitiful looking on a grown man, though you don't think he cares.
You lean in, kissing him, pulling away again only when you feel that you're ready. He whines, following after, but you shake your head, chuckling.
"Let me drink my coco before it gets cold." You say, and Tenna relents, antennas dropping as he lets you go to grab your mug.
As you hand him his he lights up again, eagerly moving to the counter to grab whipped cream and dunk in plenty of marshmallows. You shake your head, sipping your own drink as you make your way back to the couch.
You're only seated for a moment before it dips beside you, Tenna grinning at you before dragging you back into him, almost spilling both your mugs in the process. You shoot him a disgruntled look as you settle back in, but he's too happy right now to care, you think.
So you spend the rest of your night doing what you spent your day doing, cozied up with your CRT, fire crackling across the room, snow falling outside. The perfect way to spend the holidays, you think.
Yeah that's all i've got for now, ummm thank you for reading!! just thought this would be something sweet and a mini-gift to my tenna-pilled moots and followers, okay bye bye neow

Hello! Short update post about where I've been/been up to for the past several months and what to expect next ^-^
To summarize where I've been:
January-Feburary: recovering from sinus surgery (details about that unfortunately not so great expereince here)
March-April: having fun playing games & socializing with my friends, enjoying life
Also March-April: not super interested in posting my stuff/worrying about posting and making things just for me and my friends to enjoy
What can you expect to see from me now that ill be posting again:
