why'd gordon stay at black mesa is the three family au? did they not allow him to leave, or was it a "there's nothign out there for me anyway so i might as well just stay and also its familiar here"? did he stay for other reasons?

Gordon, after losing his memories, was trained to be the perfect living errand boy for Black Mesa

Basically, they taught him that nobody loved him and he’d die without them protecting him, and then got him to do shit like make coffee runs, which makes me mad even though I’m the one writing the story

On a more positive side, he also stayed because of Benrey.  The two are pretty much inseparable and stick together no matter what. 

So while Black Mesa treats the dude like shit, Gordon’s still able to keep his chin up, and it gets better for him

there’s a lot of brainstorming to go along with all this Octo Tartar stuff! here’s a little taste of some of it~

the basic idea behind it is that after being defeated, Tartar’s consciousness got transferred from their destroyed phone-body to the primordial goop that was on it. from there, Tartar was accidentally respawned as an Octoling - but now that they’re organic, they have no connection to/control over the Kamabo Co. facility... which means if they’re going to keep tabs on the surface world, they’re going to have to do their surveillance by more “analog” means. neither CQ Cumber nor Tartar enjoy it. :’D

...but then on one of these surveillance trips, Tartar manages to catch the news and find out that another capsule from ancient times has been discovered! A group of Octarian scientists brought it along with them when they fled Octo Valley, where they’d been trying to crack it open for decades. and of course when Tartar finds out about this, one might say that their priorities shift a little...
