More adventures and other stuff with my ‘oc’ Normal Bug!

For the uninitiated/people who don’t want to read, Normal Bug is a completely normal, absolutely regular, entirely singular bug and is in no way a colony of Lifeseeds inhabiting the Broken Vessel. Obviously.

1. Little Ghost meeting Normal Bug! They’re very confused right now. Not necessarily opposed to this new friend, just confused. The fact that the Lifeseeds are piloting the corpse of their sibling is not necessarily an obstacle to becoming friends with them. They’re cool with a lot of disturbing things.

2. Normal Bug negotiating with Sly for a Stalwart Shell charm. They keep Geo and charms inside their goop and simply sort of... gloop it out to use it. They make a strange mixture of jingling and squishing noises while moving around. For the record, it is incredibly obvious to everyone that Normal Bug is not a normal bug, but Normal Bug themselves are all oblivious to this. They think they’re blending in perfectly. Even as it’s obvious to everyone that they’re a bunch of bugs speaking in unison when they talk, they’re 100% certain no one suspects a thing. Sly doesn’t care if their Geo is slimy and they’re very obviously not what they seem, it’s still good money. He’ll happily bleed them dry.

3. What’s under the cloak! Unlike the original Broken Vessel possession, there’s no void left in them, so they don’t have any hands or legs, just a bunch of goop! The bottom Lifeseeds scuttle along in unison and the rest of them kinda gloop after them, so they tend to list to the opposite direction of where they’re going as they move.

“Hello, fellow bugs, I am one of you! I am one singular bug, please ignore the smaller bugs crawling out of my eyesockets! Those are.... parasites. Yes. parasites. I am a normal bug who would like to buy a charm!”

So... is it fair to call this my own oc if it’s just a canon boss but infested with a different species of bug? Whatever, I’m doing it anyway.

I was fighting the Broken Vessel and thought... hey, what if... maybe... instead of lightseeds, lifeseeds decided to infest their corpse? Yes, I know, technically, Lightseeds are an entirely different species of animal than Lifeseeds, but I thought it would be cool anyway.

Now, to be clear, despite inhabiting the corpse of the Lost Kin, this guy is NOT a resurrected Broken Vessel/Lost Kin, but rather, a colony of Lifeseeds attempting to masquerade as a singular bug for their own protection, using the Lost Kin’s corpse as a puppet. 

They (as in plural they, technically) are, however, influenced slightly by the remains of the Lost Kin’s mind, since clearly at the end of the Broken Vessel fight, it does attempt to use their body to crawl towards Little Ghost. They occasionally get little influences from whatever’s left of the Lost Kin, and just think it’s somebody in the hive mind speaking up without naming themselves.

They, now that the infection is gone (in whatever endings that happens in) are traveling Hallownest to find a nice home and are setting their sights on Dirtmouth as a home, considering it seems to be the liveliest place left (which honestly is kind of sad), but first they’ve got to make it through the rest of Hallownest, which, considering their lack of a nail (they couldn’t figure out how to pick it up), is going to be hard.

They are doing their best to appear to be a Normal Bug who is doing Normal Bug Things... but mostly are surviving because everyone’s too polite to call them out on their shit.
